The Final Review Checklist to Avoid EB-1A Pitfalls

Perform a red-flag check, read your petition like an adjudicator, and purge weak evidence before you file.

checklist review

You are at the final mile. Before you submit, do a strategic case review—it's more than typos. Put on an adjudicator's hat and catch weaknesses before they do.

Phase 1: Objective red-flag check

  • Forms: Latest I-140 version? Signed in ink?
  • Fees: Correct, current fee per USCIS?
  • Exhibits: Do all exhibit numbers in the letter match the evidence labels, and is every page legible?

Phase 2: Strategic “adjudicator's hat” review

  • Clear story: Does your letter read as a coherent narrative, not just a list?
  • Field of endeavor: Is it defined narrowly and credibly?
  • Impact: Do you rely on internal company awards, or do you show external recognition?
  • Recommendation letters: Are they diverse, independent, and unambiguous in praise?

Phase 3: The weak evidence purge

Remove items that may hurt more than help. Avoid student awards, pay-to-join memberships, or predatory-journal articles. A lean case with undeniably strong evidence beats a bloated one with questionable material.

Complete these phases and submit with confidence, not hope.
